The United Nations reports that global merchandise trade hit a record high in the third quarter
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) stated that global merchandise trade exceeded US$5.6 trillion in the third quarter of 2021, setting a record high and will remain near this level in the last three months of this year. Unctad stated in the report that the global trade in goods and services is expected to increase to approximately 28 trillion U.S. dollars in 2021, an increase of approximately 5.2 trillion U.S. dollars over 2020 and 2.8 trillion U.S. dollars higher than 2019.
