Melissa & Doug, JAJF Partner to Provide Toy Care Packages

Melissa & Doug partnered with the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation (JAJF) to provide toys to families who are facing the future loss of a parent to terminal illness. JAJF is known for WOW! Experiences, providing families with a prescribed time out during treatment to just enjoy time together while they still can.


The COVID-19 pandemic shifted everyone’s world in the past year, but it has made those staying in healthcare facilities live in a confined bubble. For those with terminal illnesses, any hope of them experiencing the world was put on pause. Any sort of travel for the immunocompromised and those undergoing chemotherapy was halted until further notice. JAJF could not fly any families out for typical WOW! Experiences, but the non-profit still wanted to provide an uplifting timeout from treatment during this time. With Melissa & Doug, this has become possible.
 
JAJF’s mission is to help the entire family through the process of losing a parent — not just the patient. Through JAJF, Melissa & Doug will give care packages to families, containing different wooden toys.
 
Oncologists stress the importance of these WOW! Experiences to give families crucial bonding time and a break from treatment. Shared time with toys between parents and children can help form memories that will provide comfort in the future, and while travel may be on pause, JAJF can still bring the fun to families.
 
Melissa & Doug is now the official toy company of JAJF and will continue this partnership in the future.
