Growing by 2.3% against the trend, China's GDP exceeded CNY100 trillion for the first time in 2020
The National Bureau of Statistics published on January 18 that preliminary calculations show that China's gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded 100 trillion yuan for the first time in 2020, reaching 101,5986 billion yuan, an increase of 2.3% over the previous year at comparable prices.

In quarterly terms, GDP of the first quarter was down by 6.8% year-on-year, the second quarter up by 3.2%, the third quarter up by 4.9%, and the fourth quarter up by 6.5% respectively. In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry was 7775.4 billion yuan, an increase of 3.0% over the previous year; the added value of the secondary industry was 3,842,55 billion yuan, an increase of 2.6%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 5,539.7 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%.
