The total retail sales of consumer goods nationwide increased by 12.5%

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2021, the total retail sales of consumer goods nationwide was 44,082.3 billion yuan, an increase of 12.5% over the previous year, and the average growth rate for the two years is 3.9%. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 39,703.7 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9%. After deducting the price factor, the total retail sales of consumer goods in 2021 increased by 10.7% over the previous year. In terms of retail formats, in 2021, the retail sales of supermarkets, convenience stores, department stores, specialty stores and specialty stores in retail units above designated size increased by 6.0%, 16.9%, 11.7%, 12.8% and 12.0% respectively over the previous year.
