Regulation issued by Shanghai: Direct sale of blind boxes to Kids under 8 Is Forbidden

 Shanghai has issued a new regulation on blind box consumption, banning the direct sale of blind boxes to minors under the age of 8
Market Supervision Administration of Shanghai Municipality has issued Direction on Compliance of Blind Box Business Activities as a guideline for the blind box business.

The direction specifies price and consumer group of blind boxes.

1) Real value of a blind box should approximate its sales price

2) Price for each blind box should be no more than 200 Yuan (31.6 USD)

3) Blind boxes are forbidden to be sold directly to children under 8, unless
sellers have got children’ guardians’ approval through offline or online.

4) The operators shall not carry out excessive marketing and hunger marketing activities.
