Hot Wheels Design Battle Winner Hits Shelves
Mattel is bringing an in-game car from Hot Wheels Unleashed into the real world.

In March, Mattel announced the winner of the Hot Wheels Unleashed Design Battle, a contest that received more than 10,000 entries to design a new version of the famous Rodger Dodger die-cast vehicle. To enter the contest, designers had to use Hot Wheels Unleashed’s Livery Editor to customize the vehicle.
The winner, “Digigold,” was designed by Hot Wheels Unleashed player Reds. The Rodger Dodger starts off with a white base but is elevated with gold-and-black detailing, including a metallic gold engine and side pipes.
The winner was chosen by a panel of judges including Mattel designers Ted Wu, vice president and global head of vehicle design; Bryan Benedict, director of product design; Dmitriy Shakhmatov, manager of product design; and Jerry Thienprasiddhi, principal graphic designer.
