According to the May 2026 China Toy Export Report (Excluding Video Games) released by the China Toy and Juvenile Products Association, China’s toy exports (excluding video games) reached US$2.81 billion in May 2026. Among them, exports of children’s ride-on toys reached US$190 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.8% and accounting for 6.7% of China’s total toy exports (excluding video games).

Overall, China’s exports of ride-on toys remained stable. Overseas markets showed significant differentiation, with the export landscape featuring clear divergence between growth and decline, steady expansion in mature markets, and adjustment pressure in emerging markets.

The EU and Latin America became the core drivers of export growth, while Southeast Asia and the five Central Asian countries recorded year-on-year declines.

Based on the report data, this article analyses the export performance of children’s ride-on toys in May from three perspectives: market regions, export destinations, and key potential markets.

 

1 The US Remains the No. 1 Export Destination for China’s Ride-On Toys

In May 2025, China’s top 10 export destinations for ride-on toys recorded combined exports of approximately US$98.64 million, accounting for around half of China’s total exports in this category.

Among the TOP 10 destinations, the US ranked first with export value of US$39.5364 million, which was 4.7 times that of Brazil, the second-largest destination. The US alone accounted for 21% of China’s total ride-on toy exports, making it a key core market for the industry.

The second tier consisted of Brazil, Russia, Germany, and the UK, with export values ranging from US$7.7 million to US$8.5 million. The differences in market size were relatively small, and the competitive landscape remained comparatively stable.

The third tier consisted of Poland, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, and France, with export values ranging from US$4.5 million to US$5.9 million. These markets were mainly regional core markets.

Among the TOP 10 countries, 8 recorded year-on-year growth in export value, demonstrating strong overall market resilience.

Brazil recorded the fastest year-on-year growth rate at 124.96%, followed by the US at 71.19%. Poland and Germany also achieved growth rates exceeding 30%, demonstrating strong market demand.

In terms of incremental growth, Brazil recorded an increase of US$4.7063 million, making it the country with the largest increase. The US recorded an increase of US$16.4407 million, becoming the main contributor to export growth.

 

2 Two Major Regional Markets Strengthen: The EU Remains the Largest Export Market, While Latin America Leads Regional Growth

From a regional perspective, the EU remained China’s largest export market for children’s ride-on toys, showing steady growth.

In May, exports to the EU reached US$39.9101 million, accounting for 21.22% of China’s total exports of children’s ride-on toys. The share increased by 1.6 percentage points compared with the same period last year, while export value increased by 11.27% year on year.

Within the EU market, Germany was the largest destination for China’s children’s ride-on toys among EU member states, accounting for 20.20% of China’s total exports of children’s ride-on toys to the EU.

Germany was also the country with the largest increase in export value within the EU, with a monthly increase of US$1.8893 million.

Meanwhile, the Latin American market also delivered notable performance.

Latin America was the second-largest growth market for children’s ride-on toys, with export value reaching US$2476.06 million. It accounted for 13.16% of China’s total exports, and its share increased by 1.2 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

Brazil was the largest destination for children’s ride-on toys in Latin America, accounting for 34.2% of China’s total exports to the region.

Brazil was also the country with the largest increase in export value across the entire region, with a monthly increase of US$4.70 million, making it the single country with the highest incremental contribution among all regions.

China’s exports to Brazil increased by 12.9% year on year. Its growth rate exceeded that of the EU, making Brazil the fastest-growing market among the four major regions.

 

3 Vietnam and Brazil Lead Their Respective Regional Markets in Southeast Asia and Latin America

From the perspective of individual country markets, the TOP 1 destinations in each region all demonstrated the characteristics of high market concentration and strong regional influence.

Kazakhstan had the highest market concentration among the five Central Asian countries, accounting for 60.34% of regional exports. It served as the core hub market for China’s children’s ride-on toys in Central Asia.

Vietnam and Brazil showed similar levels of market concentration in Southeast Asia and Latin America, accounting for 34.43% and 34.22% of regional exports respectively. They represented major growth drivers in their respective regions.

Germany was the destination with the largest increase in export value within the EU market, accounting for 20.20% of China’s exports to the EU.

In addition to Germany, France, the Netherlands, and other countries also maintained important market shares.
