Will Shokugan be a hot seller in China?

  Stemming from Japan, Shokugan (しょくがん) is a edible toy and has a history of over 10 years. Recently it has been popular among China customer group, with the related hot topics emerging on social media platforms. Compared with its Japanese counterpart, Shokugan industry in China is at infant stage, which may provide new development opportunity for enterprises and will lead brand differentiation into a new direction.


  Due to the influence of Japanese two-dimensional culture and trend culture, the popularity of Shokugan is further increasing. Many young customers buy the toys by travel or overseas shopping. They are keen on sharing and exchanging their playing experience on social media platforms.


  Shokugan market in China will see a vast potential for future development based on its huge numbers of young customer groups and mature supply chain system, though it’s still at the starting stage.
